Inland Rescue Swimmer Instructor (IRSI)
The Inland Rescue Swimmer Instructor pathway is designed for existing Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician Instructor (SRTI) or above to be able to deliver IRS courses.
Prerequisites
- Inland Rescue Swimmer (IRS)
- EMT, Wilderness First Responder (WFR), or equivalent medical certification appropriate for the environment in which they will be working
Currently hold one of the following Instructor qualifications:
- Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Technician Instructor (SRTI)
- Swiftwater and Flood Rescue Advanced Instructor (SRTAI)
- Swiftwater Rescue – Instructor Trainer (SRT-IT)
Instructor training & assessment
Observe, assist & be assessed by IRS-IT and/or as agreed upon with Rescue 3’s International Office
Qualification valid for
2 years
Able to teach
Inland Rescue Swimmer (IRS)
Additional Specialty Qualifications
*Inland Rescue Swimmer Instructors may be signed off to teach these courses once they have attended each particular type of course and are assessed as competent by the instructor overseeing the course.
